The Role
We are looking to recruit a paralegal to join our fast-paced growing Litigation department, dealing with both Defendant and Claimant work. No two days will be the same. We are a busy firm and we deal with a range of litigation matters.
We are looking for someone with experience of working within a law firm. You may be an experienced administrator/legal secretary, looking for progression or you could be someone who has already had some paralegal experience, looking for progression and a new challenge.
The ideal candidate will be professional, courteous, trustworthy and above all a team player. You must be highly organized and meticulous. Attention to detail is a must. The ability to think outside the box and deal with challenging issues is also of upmost importance. You will be dealing with legal correspondence and documentation. You will be liaising with the other side and external sources. You will be arranging Counsel for hearings and drafting the necessary instructions to Counsel as well as statements of costs. You will also be involved in the costing of files, once a matter has concluded. You will be expected to answer the phone, deal with emails and queries from clients, under the supervision of the Team Leader and assist with the progression of files. Confidentiality is paramount as well as the ability to be respectful and understanding of our clients’ situations.
About Us
We are committed to providing exceptional service, specialising in the areas of Consumer Credit, Defending County Court Money Claims and Contentious Probate. We act for clients nationwide in defending claims issued in the county court for consumer credit debts by Banks and Lenders. These include loan agreements, credit card agreements, hire purchase agreements and current account overdrafts. Applications to set aside default judgment, defending Summary Judgment applications, applications to set aside Statutory demands issued by creditors and appealing judgments ordered at a hearing. We also deal with Data Protection Act issues which includes creditors, lenders and debt purchasers making incorrect reports to the credit reference agencies.
